Jen and Steve had an autumnal, urban wedding set in the heart of Sheffield City Centre with dogs, donuts and video games. They got married in November at the awesome 99 Mary Street, which is a creative meeting space/art gallery in the Cultural Industries Quarter of Sheffield. It was such a fun day and even the rain didn’t dampen the day!
Jen got ready in an Air BnB Victorian house, and the atmosphere was so relaxed. The bride then jumped into a taxi to get to the ceremony. Steve got ready at home with their pet cat!
The ceremony was an intimate service in the exhibition space of the venue. It’s a cosy place this time of year as the lighting is warm against the old red brick of the interior. During the ceremony they read their own vows. It was so emotional and so personal. They were lucky enough to have confetti outside on the old cobbled street as the rain had finally stopped.
The reception was in the same room at the venue. They chose 99 Mary Street because it has so many options and they could totally personalise it. It was a chilled out wedding, which I love to capture. I love shooting relaxed weddings because the people are so fun.
For dinner they Street Food burritos, which was so yummy. I also particularly enjoyed the donuts that were served for dessert! The first dance was epic and they finished off the evening with sparklers. I love sparklers, they always make such great photographs.
The most memorable part of the day was the speeches, because they even had me all choked up.
Jen wore a Monsoon dress and Steve wore a Marc Darcy suit and they looked so dapper. Jen’s flowers were made of paper and Steve’s shoes were a cracking pair of blue Dr Martens. Jen’s bouquet was so unique and unusual – not something you usually see, which I thought was great.
Jen and Steve’s wedding was so laid back and just the happiest occasion. Here’s their awesome wedding! If you’re planning a Sheffield city centre wedding, get in touch!
