Nicola and James got married at Edale Gathering in the Peak District, which is a converted barn with vast and epic views. It was the most beautiful wedding and the weather was great which allowed us to make the most of the surroundings.

The ceremony was an intimate service in a beautiful room. During the ceremony they read their own vows, it was such a personal, emotional service.

They decorated the area with fairy lights, which I loved. The reception was in the barn at Edale Gathering – I love this venue because it has so many great opportunities for portraits. Weddings at Edale Gathering are amazing, because the surroundings are just incredible.

Edale Gathering is really peaceful and secluded and is one of the best places to get married in Peak District. The venue has such an amazing atmosphere for a wedding and there are many rustic buildings on the grounds that are perfect for photos – as you’ll see from the photographs I am going to share.

The couple had a drinks reception in the afternoon and a fabulous cake bar in the evening. The whole day was incredibly laid back and relaxed – the kind of wedding I like best. For dinner they had proper wedding grub, and the first dance was a romantic slow dance. They finished off the evening with a cosy bonfire outside.

Nicola wore an awesome lacy dress and James wore a really sharp suit and they looked really gorgeous. Nicola’s choice of flowers was just stunning, a really beautiful bouquet which complemented her dress perfectly.

The couple got in touch with me last year and right from their enquiry I knew we were going to get along. They said they wanted a photographer who would be like a guest and I loved that they were so relaxed.

One of the best things about getting married at a venue like Edale Gathering is the scenery – I was able to take Nicola and James out into the Peaks for their couple portraits which is really something special and gives you some really epic photographs with which to remember your day.
